Hopeful Hearts Come Alive at Fishnet LIVE!

What an exciting time to be alive! In the midst of a struggling economy and a seemingly changing world system, our God shows up to embrace His people with encouragement, strength and an unchanging, steadfast love!

Such was the case at our recent Fishnet LIVE! fall events in Woodbridge and Hampton, Virginia. People from all walks of life joined together for learning, laughing, and singing and praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Although not quite attended as well as we expected, these life-impacting, life-changing conferences proved to be the remedy for those who came seeking. Practical teaching sessions and powerful testimonies seasoned a day just basking in His presence and in His grace.

Fishnet Ministries delivered God’s vision for Fishnet L.I.V.E – Lordship, Integrity, Vocation and Evangelism—by starting off the conferences with praise and worship by Darrell Dement followed by inspiring messages by Fishnet’s Larry Andes and Josh Andes. Author and fitness trainer Chantel Hobbs shared her amazing testimony of her 200-pound weight loss by “never saying diet” and encouraging us to move our bodies and focus on who we are in Christ. Author and business coach Dan Miller challenged the audience to do the work that we love with in-depth teachings resulting in a new-found freedom for many from the 40-hour work week. Comedian Jeff Allen offered comic relief throughout the day, while retired attorney and judge Ken Smith confronted our time management skills with a test on where we spend our daily hours and a challenge to make sufficient time for God each day.

And speaking of time, the conferences allowed loads of time to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise! Musical artists Mary Mary, Mandisa and the David Crowder Band performed during the events and helped to usher in His presence with music and song. Offering us times of refreshing and an uplifting of hearts, the artists highlighted the events with their songs that ranged from Contemporary Christian and Christian Rock to the old familiar Gospel tunes flavored with incredible Praise and Worship. One youth pastor remarked that they were thrilled to see so many of their teens worshipping Jesus on a Saturday afternoon! By the end of each night the David Crowder Band, an audience favorite, had the crowd laughing, crying and beaming with a new hope and a new love—God’s love.

The Fishnet LIVE! conferences would have fallen short of the vision had we not taken the time to focus on the number one priority of our God’s love—SOULS.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believed in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)

Evangelist Steve Russo was present at God’s appointed time and delivered two stirring messages for those who had either not yet made a decision for Christ or who had gotten away from their faith at some point and were in need of restoration. The Bible says in John 12:32:

As for me (Jesus), if I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself."

As we lifted up His name during these events through teaching, testimony and music, and shared the love of God with each other, God promised He would draw men to Himself. And that he did! Approximately 25 people made decisions for Christ during the Fishnet LIVE! events with more, undoubtedly, unaccounted for as the days followed.

O soul are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There's light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free:

Turn you eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face;
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.
